Read the complete article in the December Issue. December "Youth Spotlight" - Tyleesha Russell Tyleesha is a junior honor student at Granby High School in Norfolk. She is president of the Norfolk NAACP Youth Council. At her church, Gethsemane Community Fellowship, she is president of Leaders of Tomorrow, a ministry which teaches young people public speaking skills. She is also youth coordinator for GANG (God's Anointed Next Generation) and a nursery volunteer. Read the entire article in the December Issue. Exemplar Awards Coming Sunday, March 4 The EXEMPLAR AWARD was created by Hampton Roads Gazeti to recognize and say "thank you" to volunteers who go the extra distance ­— individuals who exemplify the true spirit of their organization's mission. Other goals are to bring recognition to our organizations and foster networking, collaboration, and sharing of resources — especially critical now, given the climate of dwindling resources and seeming hostility toward society's "have nots." Any nonprofit community-service organization, of any size, may nominate a candidate for the Exemplar Award. To be eligible, a nominee must have served your organization in the 2011 calendar year. Honorees will be recognized at a public ceremony and reception and profiled in the special March 2012 Souvenir Edition of Hampton Roads Gazeti.
