Congratulations Sound Way to Easy Reading ! Thanks' for supporting the struggle and success ! Blessings upon our Black owned/operated businesses !
Program OverviewThe Sound Way to Easy Reading is a product of Bremner-Davis Educational Systems. The program uses simple recordings and charts to teach sounds, blends, and other rules for decoding words. Thousands of schools and individuals have thrived using this program over the years. Reading is the one critical skill needed for every school subject. Reading proficiently will enable a student to learn more quickly and easily. Reading effectively makes a difference as a tool used for learning other information. Seventy to eighty-five percent of everything your child learns comes from reading. After successfully using the program with her sons Danny and Damien, in 1984 Ruth Qualls, the founder of "Let's Make It Difficult for Our Children to Fail," began using the program to teach other children how to read using phonics. Mrs. Qualls also began educating parents about the program. In 1988, as a high school senior Lisa Felton started assisting Mrs. Qualls at the center. She continued working with her while majoring in English at Longwood College in Farmville, Virginia. Even after graduation and during her career as a teacher Lisa continued to support Mrs. Qualls in her endeavor to educate parents and children. A New ChapterOn August 20, 2006 upon Mrs. Qualls' retirement, Lisa was joined by Christopher Bracey in carrying on her vision of providing affordable educational services to Hampton Roads' families. The objective of our Sound Way to Easy Reading Learning Center is to give students ages 4 to 17 a complete mastery reading and math skills. We believe in mastering these skills through private, individualized practice. Our program prepares your child with reading, comprehension, math, vocabulary, and test-taking techniques needed for successful navigation through school. With the assistance of certified teachers and qualified tutors, we evaluate students, begin on their level and steer them beyond the level expected of them in the school systems. We work with students on, above, or below grade level by providing them with educational guidance and moral support. We also model for parents how to assist their children at home. The directors of the Parent/Child Learning Center, Lisa Franklin M.Ed. and Christopher Bracey are licensed educators. During his ten years as an educator, Mr. Bracey received an award from the Superintendent and was voted both Inspirational First Year Teacher and Teacher of the Year at St. Helena Elementary. He has received National Instructional Technology certification and nominated Most Inspiring Technology Specialist at St. Helena and Sherwood Forest Elementary Schools in Norfolk. Mr. Bracey's dedication to education has been evident in his students' levels of achievement. He has also served as a tutor and mentor to children in Hampton Roads for over 12 years. |
