Poetry in Motion Goes International
The pride and joy of Mandeville and Jamaica's Feast of the Arts, Poetry in Motion, (affectionately called PiM) goes international for it's 13th annual staging; presenting international performers from Belgium and Canada.
Onesty, the rising sensation of Belgium and Shauntay Grant, Canada's finest, are representing the international flavours for Poetry in Motion (PiM) 2016.
Jamaica's Premiere and Most Successful Annual Poetry Event
The 13 Annual Staging of Poetry in Motion shall be unveiled on Sunday February 28th at Manchester Golf Club, Mandeville. PiM's international performers will harmonize with the stellar Jamaican contingent.
Poetry in Motion 2016 is proud to present iconic Barbara Gloudon, Dean Frasier (the musical genius), Dufton Shepherd (who returms to PiM by popular demand), Mutabaruka (the edgy cutting-stepping razor), PiM's founder and artistic director, Yasus Afari as well as Dwight "Lt. Elmo" Samuels, AnnMarie Wilmot, Jodian Harvey, Collette Kerr, Britton Wright along with a very special guest performer.
In Support of Charity - Poetry in Motion 2016
Friends in Need, which cares for the street people of Mandeville and the Gilbert and Georgia Allen Educational Trust, which supports financially challenged students, are the 2016 recipients of PiM's charity.
Clean, Intelligent Fun for the Entire Family and Community is the celebrated mantra of Poetry in Motion. As is customary, PiM actively encourages and promotes social responsibility by donating to worthy community based charities on an annual basis.
The Feast of the Arts
The13th annual staging of Poetry in Motion, which is officially dubbed, the Feast of the Arts, is being unveiled on Sunday February 28th at Manchester Golf Club, Mandeville. Fittingly, Manchester Golf Club is the first and oldest golf club in the western hemisphere.
PiM is an elegant affair, showcasing Clean Intelligent Fun for the Family and Community so bring the entire family and come out early. Gates open at 3:00pm and showtime is at 6:30 p.m. We look forward to seeing you at Poetry in Motion 2016.
