Someone Thought This "MLK Black Party" Was a Good Idea

Every year, people exhibit a lack of respect for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Sometimes it's with shameful party flyers; other times, it's at the opposite end of the spectrum. The Arizona State University chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon's stunt falls into the latter category.

For inexplicable reasons, members of Tau Kappa Epsilon thought it would not only a good idea to have a "MLK Black Party" where attendees paid homage to "African-American" culture by dressing like the Diplomats, circa 2003. Oh, and they photographed themselves and shared it social media as people tend to do, leading to their suspension.
As far as cultural sensitivity goes, TKE pissed all over it:
Pictures from the event, coined "MLK Black Party" by the group, show members and guests dressed in basketball jerseys, flashing gang signs and even drinking from watermelon cups...
Whether incidents like this are intentional or born of pure ignorance, they still need to be punished. In some cases, it's the only way people will learn.
