JOBS!

President Obama needs help--fast! And as a-political as I am, I'm jumping in the fight, on his side, because he is a Black man under attack from seemingly all sides, particularly from the CONS-Black & white, and I fear for the consequences if those CONS regain complete control.  It's a matter of survival, yours, mine, our children! Didn't we just see where the poverty rate is rapidly spreading and sucking more of US into its grip? Didn't those of us who came out to help feed the hungry in the park last Saturday also see our needy sister's feet soaking wet in only flip-flops in all of that cool rain?  How many of us know at least one person in our family who is out of work, or close to it?  How many of us know of relatives who have graduated  college and can't find work?  And don't tell me that simplistic CON BS about those people made the wrong decisions.  There are other, more sinister forces out here that are controlled by the super-rich, elite oligarchy that threatens even the most astute decision-making.

The poll below shows that most people want increased taxes on wealthy people.  Even though a $250,000 salary is not, in my opinion, super-rich, but if most people favor increased taxes on that income bracket, then it is axiomatic that they would also favor increased taxes on millionaires and billionaires as well.

Most people, except the CONS. Now Obama has put forth a jobs bill to address some of the needs of the economy.  Even though it is not specifically talking about Black unemployment, and it is far from perfect, at least it does address Black needs in that it helps small businesses of which over 100 thousand  are US.  It proposes to extend unemployment compensation for millions of US who are out of work.  There are other features in trhe bill as well that can assist us, including relieving our tax burden and imposing a more realistic one on the super-rich.

So, even though it does not specifically target our jobs plight, at least Obama  is putting something on the table. Yes, I'm still on his case about not directly helping Black joblessness, and on other major issues as well, but when I look at what the CONS propose, it's very clear where I stand.  Because the CONS DON"T HAVE A JOBS BILL AT ALL!  And that's why I'm proposing that we take the fight directly to the CONS by contacting EVERY VA Republican member of congress and asking them "WHERE IS THE REPUBLICAN JOBS BILL.?" "WHERE IS YOUR PLAN TO GET US BACK TO WORK?"

Use the link below to contact Congress.  Send their replies to the local media, and ask the media, why they are not asking the CONS the same questions.

n July, a Washington Post-ABC News poll showed that 72 percent of respondents supported raising taxes on incomes of more than $250,000 a year.
