When Donkeys Fly

Hotep All,

Great video to watch. I use to be one of the ignorant fools who gave this pimp thousands of dollars a year and I mean thousands of dollars, but even in the book he supposedly follows it says the truth will set you free. I'm surely glad I have actually found the truth.

But, since I have become enlightened I have since learned there is more to that quote in which my AfRAkan ANKHcestors placed on the walls of the temples in Kemet..."The Truth and SPIRITUAL Knowledge will set you free." There is a big difference between the two.

They have million dollar sound systems, architectural designs that rival the Taj Mahal and luxuries and amenities prepared for Jesus' return. This is what we see at many of our mega church facilities, which have become so prevalent throughout America. It's called the "prosperity gospel." The prosperity gospel states that our faith and tithe dollars not only guarantee us the financial rewards we've been seeking but also preserves us a spot in "heaven." Mega church ministers like Creflo Dollar says that prosperity is more than just money, but trust me, his supporters primarily want money. Why? Because money can solve most of their other pressing concerns.

According to the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life, October 2006, nearly half of all Christians in the United States agreed with the statement… "God, will grant material prosperity to all believers who have enough faith." So, in other words, the level of our faith is directly linked to our financial blessings. That's ironic, because it appears as though the people who are in the worst financial condition have the most abundance of faith.

It's amazing to see the striking similarities of preachers and pimps. Both preachers and pimps have the gift of gab. They are both big "bull-shitters." Both will correct you if you get out of line. Neither a pimp's subjects or a preachers congregation can speak out of turn or ask too many questions; if any at all. Both preacher and pimp will approach their subjects if they haven't been bringing in enough money. The women of the pimp will get slapped and beaten. In the case of the preacher's parishioners, they will be approached by one of his or her board members or church employees and asked… "Ms. Smith, our tithe records indicate that you have not been operating within your gifts. Is there something wrong? Are you experiencing any financial problems?" The most appropriate answer, of course, would be to say "Yes, all my money is going to this church every Sunday." Preachers and pimps are both ostentatious with the way they dress. It's disheartening to see so many impoverished people run up to the pulpit and give their hard-earned money to a man who is wearing authentic gators.

We cannot begin to measure the great number of people who've lost their houses largely because of giving too much of their money to the church. No, no one makes these people give their money away but like women under the spell of a pimp, they sometimes feel trapped and helpless. Preachers present themselves to their congregations as though they have a direct pipeline to heaven. The people, therefore, feel like they must stay connected to the preacher in order to also be connected to this heavenly pipeline. Preachers are masters at playing on people's fears and emotions. Creflo Dollar made one of the greatest wealth generating statements when he said… "Tithing is our covenant connector." What Creflo was saying was that if you don't tithe, then you're disconnected from the "Kingdom of God." That is a frightening proposition. If we really want to take the proper steps to achieve financial freedom, we must learn to pay ourselves first. It's time for many of these preachers/pimps to get a real job.
