Moo-lah & Meals!

All right, I have some free stuff and some things that  will cost you a little moo-lah, but it's all good.  First the freebie- some of you may know about the VA Dept. of Treasury's Unclaimed Property Division's efforts to hook you up with property (money, items, etc) that belong to you, but have not been claimed.  If you don't claim what's legally yours, well they're gonna keep it for the state. I've seen several family names on the list, as well as friends, and it don't cost you nothing to check your name on their data base, at the link below.  If you find your name, fill out the quick online inquiry form and they'll send you a claim form asking for your signature, ssa# and drivers license number, and you'll get your check, item, etc. that you likely didn't even know that they had. Tip, use various combinations of your name-with or without middle initial, or middle name spelled out, maiden name, married name, legal name, birth name, etc.

Next, over the years, we have donated, as well as encouraged others, to donate their time & moolah for various efforts to clothe, feed, care for our people via such efforts as  providing survival packages to our people in Afrika's Sudan , to feeding local hungry people in Lafayette Park, to disaster assistance to our people suffering from the drought in the Horn of Afrika. Recently, i received a card from the Union Mission in Norfolk advising me that I could feed a person for only $1.92. I thought that was incredible and after calling them to verify, I learned that we can feed a person for approximately the same amount practically all year long, noy just during the western 'holy day' season. The mission also said that they don't require people to be Christians or preach at them in order for the people to get fed. So, I'm passing this on to you, if you're so inclined, their web site link is below.

I've also included links for other feeding programs. I'm personally familiar with " Martha's Table" in DC and I've included links to other efforts  for those of you in the northeast (NY/NJ)area and out west in the CA area.

To feed a hungry person a complete meal for $1.92 is a bargain in this country; we throw away more than that every day on junk.
