The Truth about thanks-killing Hollow Day

Ete Sen (What's Up) All,

Hopefully you had the chance to read the article I sent out the other day referencing the Hollow Day 'thanksgiving' and realize that there is nothing thankful about it. Especially if you are Black and for sure if you are Native American.

Did you know that the Native Americans have national protest every year for thanks-killing? Why aren't we supporting this instead of feeding our faces with the toxic food of poor knowledge. We have to wake up and smell what Massah has cooking for us...a can of ignorance.

We have to open our minds and realize what we are celebrating and respect those who died before us and stop letting what everyone else is doing control what is our common sense. Check out a few of these links:

Now, the sad part...I live here in the Hampton Roads area and I was down in VA Beach last night while they were putting on a hollow-day parade and sadly the majority of the bands were black high schools and HBCUs marching and twirling down the street. Man I tell you ... ignorance is a bliss.

We march around and have no clue what we are even marching for and the sad thing from what I was told is that they had to pay to be in the parade. Not, sure if this is the truth or not but if so ... what the shigidy is up with that?

Now ... for those of you who aren't familiar with the African American History Network (AAHN), the brother did a great show last week (Nov 18th) on "Should African American Celebrate thanksgiving." If you are one who craves knowledge like I do, surely go and listen to the show on Blog talk radio. It's free and it only cost you your time.

There is an old African Proverb that says..."when the student is ready the teacher will appear." Well ... if you are ready the teachers are all around you waiting for you to ask questions and direct you to the answers.
