The Subliminal Seduction of Holiday Celebrations, Dr Ray Hagins

Hetepu (peace & blessings) All,

As we approach another European money making Holy-Day, I thought this video by Dr. Hagins was fit for the occasion especially as we approach the next European Holy-day called Easter.

Yes ... Valentine's Day and all of these other European Holy-Days are truly creations of their mind because they have "NO" verifiable truth behind any of them especially when they pertain to Black people anywhere in the world.

I think the title of this message says it all. If you are one who craves knowledge and TRUTH, feel free to click on the Youtube video and prepare to open up your third eye. The video link below is Part 1 of a 7 part series. Take time to look at all of them.

THE MAN UP CAMP - Rites of Passage Weekend in Virginia

INTRODUCTION TO THE MAN UP CAMP
RIGHTS OF PASSAGE SET FOR MAY
 REGISTRATION ONLINE
From the Nat Turner Library
Divine Will is when you make a  to execute your words, acts or deeds (intention) exactly right for the right reasons, in the right season.

The Right Season is in the particular period of time in the Solar Cycle Journey (Spring, Summer, Fall or Winter).

I am aware that many are becoming conscious of the Solar Cycle Journey for the First time. In essence All are being initiated into the same practice of our ancestors who built the Egyptian Pyramids, thousands of centuries ago.

If you want more information about the Spiritual Practice of our ancestors, please visit The Nat Turner Literary Journal at www.black-e-books.com click page 8 on the bottom of the Front Page.

WE ARE IN THE WINTER SOLSTICE
The time period in the present Solar Cycle is the Winter Solstice. In winter we are using up stored energy to, first of all, survive the coldest part of the year. We don’t move around as much so we deplete our energy, causing us to do more thinking (Spiritual things).

We should be doing things to both replenish our energy (this is what our fundraising is about) and preparing the places in our life experience where we are going to plant our Spiritual and Physical Seeds. This will be in the season following Winter.

The plans we are making, for the most part, are for the next Solar Cycle…what we are doing; I said yesterday that I would share what I am personally doing - to prepare for my own Planting. Of course as a khalifah in Kujichagulia Village, I also plan for many, many others.

OUR PLANS
In the coming Spring, we are planning a Conference to Introduce the Rights of Passage of The Man Up Camp. This will be done some time in warm weather; probably in May. We put it out to the Universe for input yesterday. This article is in the file folder of Melanin Mates Meeting and Healing…on facebook.

Today we tell you that we want a two-day weekend event selected for this May. The weekend will be announced around February 21. The Parameters of the Introduction conference are already decided. So the Facilitators for the two day event will be announced when we publicize the selected weekend.

If the Reader would like to have input into this event, I ask you to make that suggestion at a website where we expect to secure the funding for this event.

Any donation will give you credit toward participation in all events that may have to be paid for during the Event (Bus to Tour the Nat Turner Trail; Food for two days in the Kujichagulia Village and etc.) The Introduction Conference is a Free Admission Event.

The above is all we intend to share today, except, to announce an actual Man-Up Camp Rights of Passage Weekend. We have a date confirmed for August 5 through the 13. This is during Black Activism Month (August). We will take questions and statements about any of the above at the website up to February 21. After the 21 we will take questions from anyplace convenient to us, including facebook.

When you do visit the site, and I suggest everyone go. At least take a look at it. I am sure we all know some young people who could use the Rights of Passage Experience. Donations can be made in any amounts.

Your donations can target payment to secure his or her place in Actual Rights of Passage experience. The money will also insure there will be a place at the Introduction to the Rights of Passage for all who want to come and participate. tO REGISTER, CLICK OR PASTE THE FOLLOWING...

Nobody's Listening to Black Folk, Sniper Gets Sniped, New Black Agenda TV Episode -- BA Report for Feb 6, 2013

This week in Black Agenda Report

by BAR executive editor Glen Ford
Don't expect President Obama to offer any measures targeted to the Black economic crisis in his State of the Union address. He's under absolutely no pressure to do so, thanks to a Black Misleadership Class that is incapable of making demands on the First Black President. "Obama need never worry about any drama from this crowd."

Congo Not a Big Issue for African Americans; who have not used their political clout to stop the killing & help build African civil societies
Obama's Race to the Top Hurts Black Students, Teachers, Communities; Drives school closings and helps charter profiteers.
Black Misleadership Class to Launch "February 30th Movement"to hold President Obama (and themselves) accountable.
by BAR editor and senior columnist Margaret Kimberley
America, born in genocide and constantly renewed by bloodbaths, treats mass murder as a virtue. Chris Kyle answered the "clarion call of white supremacy, manifest destiny and imperial delusion." Now that he's dead, the world is a better place.
A Black Agenda Radio commentary by BAR executive editor Glen Ford
The president's men drib and drab out their rationale for how President Obama decides which Earthlings live or die. A newly leaked "white paper" claims the president can transfer his killing authority to unnamed, unranked "informed, high level" officials. Thus, the people-killing process "is whatever the president or the nearest 'informed, high-level official of the U.S. government' says it is.
A Black Agenda Radio commentary by BAR executive editor Glen Ford
U.S. drone bases are multiplying on the African continent. Niger has just "given the green light to accepting American surveillance drones on its soil"; neighboring Burkina Faso already has one; two new drone facilities are opening in Ethiopia and the Seychelles; and UN peacekeepers in Congo want U.S. drones. Drones have terrorized Somalia from AFRICOM's base in Djibouti for the past seven years.
Akinyele Umoja
Contrary to Congressman John Lewis' revision of history, "the notion that the Civil Rights movement was exclusively nonviolent is a popular mythology." In fact, "Some members of Lewis's Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee picked up weapons and worked with community people to defend their lives against white terrorists."

by Dr. Boyce Watkins
Dr. Watkins, an esteemed author, economist and social commentator, has seen the error of his ways. He has been wrong to argue that President Obama be made accountable to Black people, his most ardent supporters. Instead, Blacks should be accountable to the president. "Only whites, Jews, gays, women, labor groups and illegal immigrants are allowed to expect anything from the president."
by Pascal Robert
There's something wrong with the process by which Black leadership is selected. "Black people are trapped in a viscous cycle of looking at their favorite leaders and revering them like baseball cards." What's needed is democracy in struggle. "People must be trained with the organizational and political capital to advocate and fight for policy and economic models that best serve their needs."

by John Pilger
The cold truth is: the U.S. and its allies' armed "interventions" seek the "implantation of the West's business plan for Africa, together with the rape of multi-ethnic Syria and the conquest of independent Iran." The corporate media fiction is: good guys versus terror.
by Diana Johnstone
"Humanitarian" military intervention under the dubious doctrine of Responsibility to Protect (R2P) is designed to negate international law regarding the sovereignty of nations, in order to justify aggression. "War is transformed into a chivalrous action to rescue whole populations from 'genocide.'"
by Raymond Nat Turner
"In charged the black bourgeoisie's creme de la creme
Maneuvering madly to touch their Messiah's hem."
Obama's "Race to the Top" is racist;

Anniversary of Trayvon Martin's death;

The History of Black History Month

The American Negro must remake his past in order to make his future . . . History must restore what slavery took away. - Arthur Schomburg

From: http://www.blackhistoryclass.blogspot.com/

Black History, as we currently know it, has it's main roots in four figures. Three men, one woman. Three were African-Americans (by today's standards), one was a Puerto Rican. Many others influenced these figures, yet we focus on these four. The Great Grandfather of Black History is W.E.B Dubois. The Grandfather of Black History is Arturo Schomberg. The Mother of Black History is Drusilla Houston, and the Father of Black History is Carter G. Woodson.
(Photo: W.E.B. Dubois)
Simply put in 1903 W.E.B. DuBois published a book named "The Souls of Black Folk." Dubois' book taught and inspired both the Puerto-Rican Arturo Schomberg, and the Woman-Journalist Drusilla Houston. The writing of Dubois, and the research of Schomberg taught and inspired Woodson, who created Negro History week with some assistance from members of Woodson's fraternity Omega Psi Phi and others who supported Woodson's activities. As a Pan-Hellenic side note, W.E.B. Dubois is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha, Arturo Schomberg is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi.
(Photo Arturo Alfonso Schomburg)

Woodson's later activities, most notably the initiation of Negro History Week, have inspired people of African descent worldwide to improve self-racial pride and laid the foundation for the United States of America to recognize February as Black History month. Houston's works have inspired many scholars, particularly scholars who have studied African and African-diaspora history, to further the scholarly work associated with Black History. Put very simply, Woodson's activities reached the common person and general cultural aptitude, while Houston's work reached the scholars.
It's interesting to note that the Mother and Father of Black History had some difficulties. Woodson dismissed Houston as a “historian without portfolio” and didn't consider her to be a serious historian. As Woodson introduced Negro History week in 1926, Houston published her groundbreaking burst on the historical literary scene with Volume I of her magnum opus "Wonderful Ethiopians of the Ancient Cushite Empire Book 1: Nations of the Cushite Empire, Marvelous Facts from Authentic Records". Daddy started Black History week, Mama provided the ancient information that supported Black History week. Thanks Mom & Dad !

Drusilla Dunjee (later Houston) was born on January 20, 1876 in Harper's Ferry, West Virginia. Her parents were Rev. John William Dunjee and Lydia Taylor Dunjee. Houston was always fearful that her works would be lost and forgotten and that they would never reach the audience she desired, namely the children. To some extent she was correct. On February 11, 1941, Houston died in Arizona after years of illness from Tuberculosis. True to faith, her grave reads: “To Die is to Gain.”
Visit http://www.abwh.org/ddhouston.htm for more information on The Mother of Black History.
William Edward Burghardt Du Bois was born on February 23, 1868, in Great Barrington, at the southwestern edge of Massachusetts, to Alfred Du Bois and Mary Silvina Burghardt Du Bois. Du Bois was born and grew up in the overwhelmingly white town of Barrington, Massachusetts. Mary Silvina Burghardt's family was part of the very small, free black population of Great Barrington and had long owned land in the state. They descended from Dutch and African ancestors, including Tom, a West African-born man who served as a private for Captain John Spoor's company in 1780, a service which likely won him his freedom. According to Du Bois, several of his maternal ancestors were notably involved in regional history.
Alfred Du Bois, from Haiti, was of French Huguenot and African descent.
Schomburg was born in the (previously predominately "Black") town of Santurce, Puerto Rico (now part of San Juan) to María Josefa, a freeborn Black midwife from St. Croix, and Carlos Féderico Schomburg, a bi-racial merchant of German heritage. Schomburg was educated at San Juan's Instituto Popular, where he learned commercial printing, and at St. Thomas College in the Danish-ruled Virgin Islands, where he studied Negro Literature. During grade school one of his teachers claimed that blacks had no history, heroes or accomplishments; this patently false claim inspired Schomburg's life-long quest to find the truth and to document the accomplishments of African-Latinos, such as Jose Campeche and later of Afro-Americans.

Dr. Carter G. Woodson. Born to parents who were former slaves, he spent his childhood working in the Kentucky coal mines and enrolled in high school at age twenty. He graduated within two years and earned a Ph.D. from Harvard. The scholar was disturbed to find in his studies that history books largely ignored the black American population-and when blacks did figure into the picture, it was generally in ways that reflected the inferior social position they were assigned at the time. Woodson decided to take on the challenge of writing black Americans into the nation's history. He established the Association for the Study of Negro Life and History (now called the Association for the Study of Afro-American Life and History) in 1915, and a year later founded the widely respected Journal of Negro History. In 1926, he launched Negro History Week as an initiative to bring national attention to the contributions of black people throughout American history. Woodson chose the second week of February for Negro History Week because it marks the birthdays of two men who greatly influenced the black American population, Frederick Douglass and Abraham Lincoln

EXPECTATIONS - The Primary Motivation For Success (Coach D Speaks)

We can be reached at our office (302) 834-1040 or via e-mail info@coachdspeaks.com to discuss.
In my neighborhood, this is how respect was won.

GEAR-UP Students
Speaking To GEAR-UP Students in Lancaster, PA!

Growing up as a child in the city of Syracuse, New York, you had many expectations. Most of my early stage expectations were a by-product of the world in which I lived. Growing up in poverty the expectations were often external:
  • To be the better athlete so that you could make a name for yourself in town.
  • To one day drive a nice car and live in a nice home so that you could show your neighborhood you made it.
  • To dress better than or to wear the most expensive jewelry you could afford just to have the appearance of success to those around you.
In my neighborhood, this is how respect was won. Expectations even came from a few people in prison who the boys in the neighborhood considered legendary. Why, because they were respected by the community. Respect was important and drove many of our actions and interactions.
For years this mindset controlled my expectations. Fortunately something happened later on in life-the light bulb went off. The message of college and the power of college to provide a better life overrode my desire to be the most respected person in my neighborhood. The external factors that drove my very being as a child were taken over by the desire to use education to achieve my life goals. I still wanted to play sports, but now sports was a means to get money for college. College became the expectation. Why did this happen? My expectations changed. My expectations became centered on a new outcome and this caused the old way of thinking to become a thing of the past. Many of you may be asking how did this happen? What caused the light-bulb to go off? My answer is simple-The people I began to surround myself with! My athletic coaches in high school and caring educators who won me over with their unconditional love. Lastly, a mother who was determined to have my brother and I look at life out of a new set of lens. A confluence of these factors caused me to change my life's paradigm. It was this team of people who subconsciously caused me to see college as a real world goal, even though education was not at the top of my communities priority list. I say subconsciously for they did not have a master plan, they simply cared enough to communicate a positive message regarding my potential--over and over again.
If you are a program like GEAR-UP, TRIO or just a person who cares about kids going to college, the key to success from my standpoint is helping students to switch expectations.   I can guarantee you they have expectations; the question we must ourselves is: are they keeping them away from school or directing them down the path of academic success? To help your students make the connection, surround them with people in and out of your organization that can help them re-evaluate expectations. I say this not as speculation but from first hand experience. Many of the friends I grew up with who made the expectations shift, are now first generation college graduates just like me.
College can become a realistic expectation to the students you serve even though it may be challenging. Expectations will either help them succeed or force them into a life of unrealized potential. Let shoot for the former.

Finding Your Passion And  Purpose For College Workshop And Speech!

One of the primary building blocks for first generation college student success is to help them identify the power of purpose and passion to college and career success. Join over 30 of your GEAR-UP and many more College Access Colleagues nationally who have booked Darrell "Coach D" Andrews to conduct this focused and high energy workshop for their cohorts.  One student commented after the workshop, "I did not think I had a purpose for my life and this why I was making bad choices. I now want to go to college for I realize I do have a reason for my life."  Students engage in a hands on team format that encourages them to connect their personal gifts and abilities to college, their current education and a sense of life significance.  BOOK COACH D today for a winter or spring event at your location (s.) You students will thank you for years to come!

We can be reached at our office (302) 834-1040 or via e-mail info@coachdspeaks.com to discuss.  Click on the link bellow to view a group of 6-7th graders, from a very challenged school district engage in the workshop.  The school administration thought that they would not participate.  2 hours after the event I was still taking questions from a very excited group of kids.
