I love this. I read it a few weeks ago and I have been meaning to post it here … Barbie’s getting an afro for Christmas! A natural hair group in Georgia will give out 40 Barbie dolls with afro textured hair to little girls in the community.

One of the group members, Candace McBridge discovered an online demo on how to develop natural looking hair for dolls with items like pipe cleaners and boiling water.
Jennifer Henderson, a member of the natural hair group and mother of a 2-year-old girl, told the Ledger-Enquirer: “We wanted to show the girls that basically, it’s okay the way God made you.”
This reminds me of a two things … the Dark Girls Documentary and another post Black Children and Self Image including the Girl Like me documentary.

You'd be starstruck the entire time. See the signs of Divine that lead and guide seekers who find within themselves the urge to ascend. Bend the rules with broken tools that you were never taught to use. How will you reach a destination that is beyond your those constellations? Patience and basic instinct activates the hidden link that shrinks fear and supplies faith. Seen through by you know who, left clues of what to do, where to go and how to say it. It takes nothing less than time to pray as you cliff hang by a finger nail. You can't fail. You can't quit. Too far above the abyss, you are at the apex of your relationship, and the galaxy is at the point of shift. You are the paradigm. You are the star who chose to shine. Truth about "DEADLY" Canola Oil & White Sugar

Ɛtɛ Sɛn (What's UP) All,

I was talking to someone today and we ran across the discussion of fried foods and then the topic of Canola Oil.  I told him about the dangers of fried foods and without a doubt Canola Oil.  He then proceeded to tell me how everyone in his family were using this "Deadly" man-made oil.  Folks, you can't trust the government to be truthful in letting you know about the deadly effects of how foods such as Canola Oil and let alone meat are to your spirit, mind, body and soul.

For those who know me, you know I try and eat healthy and that I gave up meat over 6 years ago.  So...I dibble and dab in those substitutes at our local grocery and health food stores. There are healthy alternatives ... but if you don't care to learn about them ... you are only hurting yourself.

But ... be careful even some of the supposed healthy alternatives are laced with this deadly MAN-MADE oil called Canola Oil.  I encourage you to please read the labels and see if your food is laced with this deadly toxin. If so ... get it out of your house IMMEDIATELY.

Remember, the government DOES NOT have your best interest in mind when it comes to making money vs. your health.  If so, they would never have allowed this product to be sold in stores especially with the documented evidence they have gathered about the deadly effects of canola oil.

Check out this site...this brother's research says and proves it all.  If you care about your health, you'll at least view the information to educate and protect your family.  Without out a doubt please pass it along to someone you care about and love.  If you don't care about anyone else, I guess you can delete it then..:o(.

The evidence presented will help you make the decision to stop poisoning your body with man-made experiments and go with what the Creator has provided for us at no charge.

In a small, remote mountain top primary school in the Kenyan bush, hundreds of children are jostling for a chance for the free education newly promised by the Kenyan government. One new applicant causes astonishment when he knocks on the door of the school. He is Maruge (Oliver Litondo), an old Mau Mau veteran in his eighties, who is desperate to learn to read at this late stage of his life. He fought for the liberation of his country and now feels he must have the chance of an education so long denied – even if it means sitting in a classroom alongside six-year-olds.

Moved by his passionate plea, head teacher Jane Obinchu (Naomie Harris), supports his struggle to gain admission and together they face fierce opposition from parents and officials who don’t want to waste a precious school place on such an old man.

Full of vitality and humour, the film explores the remarkable relationships Maruge builds with his classmates some eighty years his junior. Through Maruge’s journey, we are taken back to the shocking untold story of British colonial rule 50 years earlier where Maruge fought for the freedom of his country, eventually ending up in the extreme and harsh conditions of the British detention camps.

African Chess Master Ms. Phiona Mutesi (Reclaiming Chess' African Roots)

Phiona Mutesi is a testament to the African Diaspora !

Phiona Mutesi is a Ugandan chess player.[1] She is not certain when she was born, although FIDE has estimated it to be 1993.[1][2] She grew up in the Ugandan slum of Katwe, where as of 2011 fifty percent of teen girls were mothers; when Phiona was about three her father died of AIDS and shortly afterwards her older sister Juliet died of an unknown cause.[1] When Phiona was about nine, and had already dropped out of school as her family could not afford to send her, she found a chess program run by the Sports Outreach Institute, which taught her how to play chess.[1] In 2010 she played on board 2 for Uganda at the 39th Chess Olympiad, and as of 2011 she was a three-time Women's Junior Champion of Uganda.[3][3] In 2012, Phiona and Ivy Amoko earned Woman Candidate Master (WCM) titles as a result of their performances at the 40th Chess Olympiad, making them the first titled female players in Ugandan chess history.[4][5][6] That same year Phiona became the first female player to win the open category of the National Junior Chess Championship in Uganda.[7] Also in 2012, a book was published about Phiona titled, "The Queen of Katwe: A Story of Life, Chess, and One Extraordinary Girl's Dream of Becoming a Grandmaster", by Tim Crothers.[8] Disney has optioned the rights to the book, and is starting work on a movie as of 2012.[9] There is also a documentary about Phiona on YouTube.[9] Phiona is also the youngest person ever to win the African chess championship.[10] The Youtube link is here:

Born in the Katwe area of the Ugandan capital of Kampala in the mid-90s (probably 1995 or 1996 rather than 1993 which is FIDE's official record) and still resident there. Her father died of Aids when she was approximately three years old. , Phiona is three times women's junior champion of Uganda. She played on board 2 for Uganda at the Chess Olympiad (Women) (2010) and again represented Uganda in the Chess Olympiad (Women) (2012) in Istanbul scoring 4.5/9 (+3 =3 -3), her result landing her the Woman Candidate Master title. She and Ivy Claire Amoko share the honour of being the first Ugandan women to have won FIDE titles. Phiona has won the 3rd Edition Rwabushenyi Chess Championship - Women with 8/9 (+8 -1), and came 2nd in the Ugandan Women's championship with 8.5/10, losing only to the winner of the event, Grace Kigeni. In August 2012, she won the Ugandan National Junior Championship with 6/7, the first girl to do so.* ASHEE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Her rating as of 1 March 2013 is 1686, and she is is Uganda's second ranked female player and number 15 overall in that country.
Disney has bought the movie rights to Tim Crothers' book about Mutesi and the money paid to her by Disney has enabled her and her family to buy some land. She hopes to become a doctor and a Grandmaster.
