Motivation for (School) Accomplishment Seminar - 5/1/13 Virginia Beach, Virginia

Our boys are brilliant...
Why aren't they shining ?

May 1, 2013, from 6:30 p.m. till 8:00 p.m.
Virginia Beach Middle School, Virginia Beach, Va

FREE - Please pre-register intended attendance

Do you worry that your child isn’t performing to his potential?  Are you frustrated by your child’s lack of effort in her classes?  Do you see giant gaps between what you know your child is capable of doing … and what he actually does in school?
You’re not alone.  Motivation is a tricky subject for parents, teachers, and counselors alike.  Join us for a session in which we’ll share ideas about supporting motivation in your children and students.  While no one workshop can cover every aspect of this broad topic, our goal is to introduce you to the resources, tools, and people who can help you understand what makes your child (or students) tick and how you can help. Virginia Beach City Public Schools presents:
Motivation for Accomplishment
Parents, counselors, mentors, and teachers of our gifted and bright students
Interactive workshop to discuss motivation and share strategies to improve motivation in underachieving students
May 1, 2013, from 6:30 p.m. till 8:00 p.m.
Presenters will stay 20 minutes after the session to provide support in using the tools
Virginia Beach Middle School, Virginia Beach, Virginia
Your laptop, iPad, or other wireless device – we will practice using an online tool for parents, teachers and counselors.
We encourage parents to bring their concerns and questions, interact with school personnel and other parents, and help us determine how we can best support your ongoing efforts to keep our children motivated to achieve.
Though not required, pre-registration is preferred in order for us to plan effectively.  If you hope to attend, please contact Sandra Maxwell to let her know you expect to participate in the Motivation for Accomplishment workshop.  She can be reached by telephone or, preferably, by email at:
