THE GLOBAL AFRICAN PRESENCE: A NEW COURSE BY RUNOKO
RASHIDI
COURSE DESCRIPTION
The African Presence in Early Asia and Early Europe, a new online workshop by Runoko Rashidi, focuses on African people around parts of the world where their presence is significant but little know. It examines the African origins and evolution of humanity, the African presence in classical civilizations, and Africans and people of African descent who distinguished themselves against all odds. In these workshops we will be using the words African and Black interchangeably, as synonyms. This includes Africans as the first modern humans, the subsequent migrations and movements of African people out of Africa and the later involuntary scattering of African people around the world as the result of enslavement.
In the workshop on the African Presence in Early Asia we will look at African people as the Aboriginal people of Asia. We will look at the African presence in classical Asian civilizations. We will look at Black populations such as the Dravidians of India, the Khmers of Cambodia, and the Agta of the Philippines.
In the workshop on Europe we will look at Africans as the first humans in Europe, Africans in Greek mythology, Africans in the Roman World, the Moors, Black Madonnas, Black Saints, Black Knights, and individual African men of distinction.
Each workshop will feature sixty of Runoko Rashidi's finest photographs.
Recommended readings are African Presence in Early Asia edited by Runoko Rashidi and African Presence in Early Europe edited by Ivan Van Sertima.
The length of each workshop is two hours.

Global African Presence; Intro Akan (Twi); Intro ...
Online class with Runoko Rashidi covering the African Presence in Asia and Europe, and a Akan (Twi) language course, Alternatively, I suggest you pick up the books of the same titles by Dr. Ivan Van Sertima.
Also you can access free lessons in conversational Mdu Neter with Dr. Rkhty Amen on Blog Talk Radio: "Speak Medu Neter - The Language of Ancient Kemet". Dr. Amen is a world-class linguist who worked with the "Pharoah"-Dr. Cheikh Anta Diop. Typically the Medu Neter was written by our Ancestors without vowels, which were supplied when they spoke the language. Thus, it was difficult, if not impossible for us to accurately speak the original language. I understand that Dr. Rkhty has worked a way around this huge problem by studying the Egyptian Coptic language, which is said to be close to the original Medu Neter. As a result, she has now developed a free conversational Medu Neter course, fulfilling her and Dr. Diop's dream of making the Medu Neter, a living language again.
