Freedom Summer program highlight: Uhuru Radio Training Intensive During the St. Petersburg Freedom Summer you can join African Internationalist broadcast professionals for hands-on training enabling you to build independent media wherever you are located! This intensive will prepare you to join the programming, promotions, administrative or engineering staff of the Uhuru Radio Network. Programming/archiving – Learn to book guests, conduct research and prepare broadcast scripts. Promotions/fundraising – Develop and implement a marketing plan to expand Uhuru Radio's audience, re-brand and launch a Subscriber/Membership program drive, and learn how to earn an income through the Uhuru News ad sales program. Engineering/production – Learn how to operate the equipment and software used in Uhuru Radio's online broadcasts and produce celebrity promotions and audio advertisements. All participants will put their training into practice during the live online video/radio broadcast of the Black Community Convention, August 6-7. » Learn about more programs taking place during the St. Petersburg Freedom Summer Project.
