Hampton AfRAkan Heritage Festival (June 24-26, 2011)

Hotep All,

The AfRAkan American Festival will be held this weekend in downtown Hampton Fri-Sun. Live entertainment, vendors (70+) and a whole lot of Black Love in the air. It's gotten better every year since I've been here in Hampton. Now… like any Black event it needs black support. They lost the Norfolk AfRAkan Heritage Festival last year after 14 years because of lack of support from the community. If we don't support our own events why should anyone else.

There will be something there to do for all ages. Also , RaJazz will be performing on Saturday at 9p along with other local entertainment throughout the weekend. Events usually kickoff that Friday around 4p.

FYI … if you plan on hanging around for the entertainment, I advise you to bring your lawn chairs and a towel because it's suppose to be hot this weekend. One thing we do well is create heat because our energy (RA) is always in motion.

June 24-26, 2011
An outdoor, non-alcoholic, family-oriented event that features nonstop entertainment. A marketplace with over 70 vendors displaying & selling their art, crafts etc. Food vendors selling plenty of ethnic foods. Mill Point Park $2 donation.
