The Libation Walk (Our Annual Father's Day Event) The Libation Walk: Date: Father's Day (United States of America) This event repeats annually on Father's Day. Mt. Trashmore, Virginia Beach, Virginia 310 Edwin Drive Virginia Beach, Virginia, 23462 Following traditions from the motherland, on Father's day the Imani Foundation invites you to honor our ancestors (Forefathers/Foreparents) who have graduated from earthly life. Following the beat of a drummer we will walk silently clockwise around the lake trail of Mount Trashmore in remembrance to our beloved familial, personal, national, and Diaspora ancestors. Carry memorabilia, pour walking libations, carry spiritual/religious materials, pray, honor, recognize, and the like as one walks the lake trail. End the silent walk with a drumming circle and social moments. Approximately a 30 minute walk. 8:00 - 9:00 AM. The Event: Gather in the Mount Trashmore (Virginia Beach, Virginia)Parking Lot near the Mount Trashmore Lake. We will begin at the far left corner of the parking lot near the administrative office. From that area we will move around the Lake Trashmore in a clockwise manner. 8:00 The Gathering, prayer & libation circle 8:10 The lead drummer begins the silent walk 8:45 (Approximately) The walk ends. The second gathering, drum circles, socializing ! HAPPY FATHER'S DAY ! Cultural attire is encouraged. Western attire is not discouraged. Casual/Excercise attire is o.k. Open to the public.
