I am chairing the Portsmouth Homeless Assist Day event which takes place tomorrow.  But I'll make a commitment to join the Norfolk Occupy when this is over.
 
I took part in Occupy Wall Street last weekend. It was amazing; it did my heart real good.  My first ever demonstration was on 42nd Street in New York in the 70's,
it was a protest  against the Viet Nam war. I heard the names of thousands of young men read off who had lost their lives in the war. That was the beginning of my activism.
 
Today, I feel real honored to be a part of this protest against Capitalist Greed at a time when so many of us are unemployed, uninsured and losing homes.  I salute the organizers and urge others to get involved.
